For this first post we’ll dive into a bit of TIME’s history. TIME’s very first trip abroad was back in 1989, meaning we’ll celebrate our 6th lustrum this year.
From the start, we’ve always been looking for interesting countries with loads of opportunities for Dutch companies to conduct research for. This has brought us to countries like India, Brazil, South Africa, United Arabic Emirates and Canada, among many, many others. And we haven’t just had the pleasure to work in great countries, but with great companies too. In the previous years we’ve already conducted research for companies like Philips, Bavaria and FrieslandCampina.
But as probably every former TIME member would say, it’s about so much more than just travelling or the work- and research experience. Not that travelling to a different country to gain work experience and enjoy the tourist attractions of that particular country isn’t completely crazy and over the top already. But you’ll also get in touch with numerous interesting people, learn about new cultures and learn some new things about you. Not to mention the great new friendships that are built during your year as a TIME member. Being on top of each other for 4 weeks straight (and all of those acquisition hours before the trip) will definitely be a different kind of bonding experience, but mostly in a good way.
We’re very proud to see how many crazy experiences TIME has brought people over the last 30 years and cannot wait for the rest of our year as TIME members to evolve. Of course we’re working on a little something to celebrate this lustrum the best way we can, but we’ll keep that a surprise for a little while longer, stay tuned for more updates!
